Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir – The Divine Dream Unfolds: Latest Construction & Consecration Milestones

Sharing is caring

A Vision Almost Complete

In Ayodhya, the sacred heart of Hindu faith is pulsing with fresh energy. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has confirmed that the main construction of the Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir was formally completed by June 5, 2025, although exterior artistry like murals is still underway. The temple now stands resplendent—its marble pillars, domes, and intricately carved spires ready to welcome devotees.

Gold embellishments, including nearly 45 kg of pure gold adorning the ground-floor doors and Lord Ram’s golden throne, accentuate the temple’s grandeur. As the final decorative touches continue—especially in the Sheshavatar Temple—witnessing this wonder in late-2025 will offer a wholly immersive experience.

Three Days of Rituals: June 3–5, 2025

Day 1 – June 3, Jyeshtha Shukla Ashtami

The city came alive with spiritual fervor as Vedic rituals began before dawn. From 6:30 am to evening, priests performed 2,000+ mantras, recited the Ram Raksha Stotra, Hanuman Chalisa, and chants from the Valmiki Ramayana. A ceremonious Kalash Yatra wound its way through Ayodhya’s lanes, crossing Veena Chowk, Ram Path, and Saryu Ghats.

Day 2 – June 4

Ritual continuity marked the day—from sunrise to sunset, fire sacrifices and devotional readings set the tone . Among devotees gathered were thousands seeking spiritual connection and renewal.

Day 3 – June 5, Ganga Dussehra (Abhijit Muhurat at 11:25 am)

At 11:25 am, under the auspicious Abhijit Muhurat on Ganga Dussehra, the grand Pran Pratishtha unfolded.

The idols of:

  • Lord Ram (as Raja Ram),
  • Goddess Sita,
  • Lord Lakshman,
  • Lord Bharat,
  • Lord Shatrughna,
  • Lord Hanuman

were placed on the first-floor Ram Darbar, flanked by six other deities installed around the Ram Mandir.

Over 101 Vedic scholars from Ayodhya and Kashi chanted ancient mantras, and rituals drew spiritual leaders instead of political figures.
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, also the head priest of Gorakhnath Mutt, performed the Abhishek and led the chants . The fifteen-minute ceremony wove together history, mythology, and celestial alignment in a deeply symbolic ritual.

Meanwhile, limited public invitations were issued; locals and devotees were urged to avoid large gatherings during the ritual days due to crowd management and heat.

Ram Darbar Opens for Devotees – June 14, 2025

On June 14, 2025, the Ram Darbar was formally opened to devotees. Entry is regulated through a pass system—initially for two evening slots, now expanded to six daily two-hour windows, each allowing 300 visitors (balanced between special and easy-access darshan).

Aarti is now conducted three times daily, and guidance on pass booking is provided via the temple trust.

Infrastructure & Final Touches

Murals depicting the Ramayana are being installed on the temple’s lower plinth. The Parkota wall (outer boundary) is nearing 90% completion, expected to finish by July, with final external works concluding by September 2025. Construction of the exhibition hall and auditorium in the complex is slated to wrap up by March 2026 .

Meanwhile, Ayodhya’s infrastructure—hotels, roads, transport networks—continues to expand in preparation for the rising stream of pilgrims.

A Traveler’s Reflection

As I walked the freshly paved approach to the Ram Janambhoomi temple, the delicate scent of incense, mingled with the echoes of recent chants, filled the air. The city itself vibrates now, poised between living history and evolving modernity.

For travelers planning a visit

Passes for Ram Darbar must be booked in advance via the temple website or trust notifications. Expect crowd control measures and sunny June heat.

Best times: Early morning or evening slots are recommended to avoid rush and heat.

Nearby experiences: The Saryu Ghats host evening aarti; local markets buzz with devotional crafts and food.

Respectful conduct: Ayodhya retains a serene, spiritual atmosphere. Observing silence, removing shoes at designated spots, and photography etiquette are essential.
